I just got an air fryer (well, Boyfriend did and I want to play with it) but I don't really know what works best with it and would like some ideas. It's a smaller model, so things like whole chickens or pizzas are right out :)

What are your favorite recipes? are there any tips and tricks to GF cooking in one?

Thanks!

Youtube will have loads of good recipes. I can look out a few - do you have any eating preferences? ( eg. Vegetarian or not, low carb, etc.)

Here are a couple channels.
https://youtu.be/Y0MGex6JSAM - her whole channel is about air frying, so lots there. Recipes look mostly scalable to a smaller model.

I really like 'em for vegetables. I've done delicious brussels sprouts (chop in at least half so more surface area gets crispy, chop more if you can) and asparagus. Little bit of oil and some salt and garlic powder or seasoning of choice and you're good to fry.

I did also do gluten free fried cheese curds if you want a Very Dairy recipe. It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure it was this recipe. https://airfryerfanatics.com/air-fried-cheese-curds-gluten-free/

Used crushed up gluten free pretzels as breading/in place of breadcrumbs. Chicken fingers work great in the air fryer. Dip in gluten free flour, egg, and then the pretzels. Or you can do the same procedure with any veggie you would fry.

There's a really good FaceBook group for air fryers... called Air Fryers Recipe Club...

It's reasonably active but what I've seen looks helpful...

I had an airfryer but had bought the larger model since there is two of us. But it took up enough space on my counter that I was annoyed with it and then got rid of it... For what I would make, I'll put the food in the oven. But other people adore theirs, so it's more of a personal thing.

I was very impressed with my Mom's "fried" chicken. It crisped up the coating beautifully, and the chicken was very tender and moist.
