It looks like the effort would make it worthwhile -- but I'm always suspicious of beautiful GF bread pictures because really? Not that easy.

Ah, I was planning to make a post on a product recommendation! Schar makes gluten free saltines! I tried them recently and was extremely impressed with how good they were. I find most of their snack foods pretty good but this was as close to a perfect saltine as there is.

and I need to calibrate your saltine application. Do you crumble saltines in your tomato soup? Gnaw on them with ginger ale when you're feeling poky?

I snack on them at any time! I eat them plain or with a little bit of cheese as a snack in between meals. I've eaten some crappy gf crackers and these have beaten all of them by far. I think you could find a difference if you ate them side by side with gluten saltines but they are very close.
