Our prompt for June is favorites! Could be a favorite cookbook, frozen dinner, or lip balm. As long as it's gluten free it qualifies.

This is my official birthday cake, too. Though this year I went with a vanilla cake with strawberry (vegan) buttercream, and now I'm missing my chocolate cake, so, I'll just put that on my to bake list.

Date: 2025-06-02 04:26 pm (UTC)I did follow a recipe, but the basic idea is you take some freeze dried strawberries, blast them in the food processor with part of the powdered sugar until everything's pink and powdery, sift it to get out any gritty bits, then make your buttercream as usual. I can type up the recipe I used if you're interested. I'm going to try freeze dried raspberries next time.
