Hey folks, it's time to talk about meat and meat alternatives so haul out your recipes that use ground beef, cheap cuts of pork, canned fish, pulled jackfruit, textured soy protein, and bean/nut/mushroom patties. We are a go for savory, meaty dishes.
To fill this prompt, you can:
- Pop into the comments of this post and share a link to a recipe and why you like it.
- Write up a favorite recipe and post it to the comm.
- Try someone's recipe and reply to their post (or comment) with any changes you made and how it turned out.
If you don't like deadlines, there's no deadline, and you can participate whenever you want.
As always, these prompts are just in case you need a little inspiration. During this time, you can continue to post to the comm even if it isn't related to the prompt.

Date: 2019-05-16 07:22 pm (UTC)This recipe calls for 2 lbs of ground beef. We make a half recipe for three people and serve it with a grain. I like to mix mine with cooked quinoa, and if you want to make this meat free, I see no reason why you can't just whip up that sauce and toss in a whole bunch of cooked quinoa in it, instead.

Date: 2019-05-17 12:30 pm (UTC)Eggroll Skillet We do this with ground turkey and one of the bagged "broccoli slaw" type things. Most of the household likes it with duck sauce/sweet and sour sauce like you'd find on eggrolls.
This could easily be done with the ground meat substitute of your choice.
Iraqi rice with carrots Again, we usually use ground turkey. Author suggests some veg options. To make this faster when we're getting home late, I chop carrots ahead of time. You could also try it with frozen carrots or other veg.
