I did follow a recipe, but the basic idea is you take some freeze dried strawberries, blast them in the food processor with part of the powdered sugar until everything's pink and powdery, sift it to get out any gritty bits, then make your buttercream as usual. I can type up the recipe I used if you're interested. I'm going to try freeze dried raspberries next time.
